ASRY’s two 250m slipways are seeing regional Arabian customers taking smart advantage of unusual availability due to a downturn in Naval demand. Usually, Naval vessels have a regular presence on ASRY’s slipways, but COVID-19 limitations in Navy protocols have reduced their drydocking schedules, leaving ASRY’s slipways more available for non-Navy repair projects. Regional owners of small and medium-sized vessels from Bahrain, UAE, KSA and Kuwait are taking advantage of this availability and seeing quick turnarounds and good rates as a result.
